Organic Aniseed Powder

Organic Ground Aniseed has a distinctive liquorice flavour and is often added to alcohol and candy for its strong and unique flavour. It is often used in cooking in the same way as fennel or caraway seeds.
Despite the similar name, star anise and ground aniseed are not the same thing. Aniseed is taken from the plant Pimpinella anisum and star anise is the star shaped fruit from a tree from the magnolia family. They have a similar flavour, however star anise is a lot stronger in flavour than ground aniseed.
Organic Ground Aniseed is a spice that is similar to fennel and has a liquorice-like flavour. It is often added to alcohol such as sambuca and ouzo to add to their distinctive flavour palette. It is also used when making certain types of candy for its strong flavour.
