Taste and Aroma: Alum Powder is not used for its flavour, but for its chemical properties in pickling and baking.
Uses: Pickling, baking and as a preservative. The main reason pickles are crispy! Use roughly one ounce of alum powder per gallon of water when pickling. **This alum powder cannot be used to grow crystals.
