It is cooling and soothing used externally in many different ways. Known for its deep reddish-brown colour and smooth texture, it has been used in South India for years. When soaked and mixed on its own or with multani mitti and turmeric as a paste, it makes an excellent face mask. The colour and texture may vary slightly between batches due to its purity and natural sources.
