Organic Star anise is a star-shaped fruit of Illicium verum, an evergreen tree that is native to
North-eastern Vietnam and South-western China. Our natural and Organic Anise star pods are hotter, pungent, bitter, and much more “liquorice-like” than the European anise. These are so versatile that they can be used whole or ground if desired and just a little needs to be used. It is an ingredient in the warming Indian spice blend, garam masala, and also used in Masala chai. It goes well with tomato based sauces and is also commonly used with meat and egg dishes.
Sealed product is handled on premises that processes milk, nuts (including peanuts), seeds (including sesame seeds & mustard seeds), cereals, celery, soya & gluten.
Store in a cool dry place away from sunlight.

Good product overall. Flavour is good, though not quite as strong as I expected. No real complaints.
My go-to for this now. A little goes a long way, great value really. Already recommended it to my family.

Was a bit unsure but glad I ordered it. Does the job in most of my recipes. Would recommend.

Works well for what I needed. Delivery took a couple of days longer than hoped, but the product itself is fine. Good value overall.
