The Gum has no taste of its own but is known for its use in postnatal and energy-boosting recipes. It is widely cultivated throughout parts of Asia and has been an integral in the spice trade for thousands of years. It can be used fried which makes it puffs up, creating a unique, crunchy texture, preferred in laddoos and desserts.
